Q&A–: When did you start feeding meats to your baby? Finger foods?
My son is 8 1/2 months old and I haven’t given him any meats yet. He has had so many different kinds of fruits and veggies and also can feed himself cheerios and that sort of thing. I am making his baby food for him and have read up on how to make meats such as chicken and turkey but just wondering when I should start?
I haven’t given him any Gerber baby food, so I am not sure what stage he is on. When does Gerber introduce meats and what are they?
Also, what type of finger foods did you give an 8 1/2 month old? I was thinking about trying noodles tonight and maybe steamed carrots? Or is this too soon?

finger foods for babies–: Finger foods for a 9 month old?
My son is not a fan of textured foods. He has had gerber food stage 1 and 2. I just introduced stage 3 and he freaks out with junks of food. His dr said he should be picking at finger foods. So I need some ideas of fun finger foods your babies love. I have given him the yogurts that melt in his mouth.He likes those. What else can I try?
Also he has NO TEETH. So I am terrified of him choking. I know he is suppose to use his gums to squash food, but Im still as nervous as can be.

I am chasing some receipes for some finger foods for my baby. Things like muffins and pancakes r great with banana and apple. Any ideas? She is 8 months and wont let me feed her she has to do it herself so cant give her purees etc

This might help you if your baby has trouble eating finger foods. My son doesn’t like to chew, he just moves it toward the back of his tongue and tries to swallow it whole, so i give him baby munmun ‘crackers’ and angel food cake in little bits so its easy to eat. They bits absorb saliva in a few seconds making it very soft, so its very easy to eat, and keeps them busy while you are doing a project right there by them or trying to eat a meal. Remember to never leave your child unattended with any type of food!! They could choke and you might not even know it’s happening!

BESIDES things like Gerber puffs & all those other pre-sized baby snacks.

I mean REAL food. My baby is almost 7 months, he does well eating baby mum mum cookies. He can grab and feed himself those.

But like what type of cheese, what snacks, what fruits and veggies [raw].

Im not looking for “expert advice” who want us to follow guidelines.

I want “mommy advice” What are some good REAL foods you started offering as finger foods to your baby.
