I don’t like the ice cube tray idea and I have done the little plastic bags (which are pretty messy), but I was wondering if anyone has a better way to do it that is easy to defrost and can be stored in small amounts? I do not want to be giving my baby one food for a week straight because I have this huge amount of food that I had to defrost all at once.

Would it be weird to use used (but sterilized) glass baby food jars for homemade baby food? I am making my own (or my mom is doing it for us) and am going to freeze in ice cube trays. However for getting it to day care, I was thinking how to do this. Would this be a good idea? I am thinking easy to transport, sealable, I can have it all thinned out to the right consistency, etc. Thoughts? Any downsides?

Q&A–: homemade baby food vs jarred one?
at first i bought store jarred organic baby food, i gave it to my baby for about 10 days to see what he likes, then i started making my own.
i don’t think there is a huge difference in price for organic. i also think that sweet potatoes and squash taste the same eaither homemade or jarred, but bananas i’d rather make myself. when he starts eating meat i wouldn’t consider jars.
i noticed that when i freeze cubes of baby food it gets a white ice coat on it even if i use the double ziploc bags.doesn’t that kill the nutrients?
so please help me decide what’s better for my baby. thank you
