Question–: 1 year old diet and milk?
My daughter is 12 months old and I feel like she has a pretty balanced diet, although I am not sure she is eating enough solid foods. I have just switched her from formula to cow’s milk and she would much rather drink milk than eat solid foods. She has 4 teeth and eats table food with only the occasional jar of an organic stage 3 dinner. Yesterday she ate:
BREAKFAST- 4 bites of oatmeal, 1/4 cup of applesauce, 6 oz of milk
LUNCH- 1/2 of a grilled cheese sandwich on wheat bread with the crusts cut off, 6 oz of milk
DINNER- 1/2 cup of homeade chicken rice and vegetable soup, 6 oz of milk
BEDTIME SNACK- 6 oz of milk
This is a typical day for her and I always offer her solids before her milk, but after only a little bit of food she starts spitting the food out. Then I give her the milk and she drinks it all and wants more. I only give her 24 oz of milk a day because I know that 16 to 24 oz is the maximum amount of milk toddlers should get per day to prevent anemia. I am just worried she is not eating enough food. She is very active and she is small for her age (28 inches and 16 1/2 pounds) but she has always been small and has remained consistent on the growth chart and has not lost weight. What is an average daily diet intake for your 1 year old and how can I get my daughter to eat more solid food?
