You may produce a green eyed monster so be careful!

Anything is possible. It’s not very likely that it’s your father’s child, but if the possibility of her cheating on him doesn’t bother your father, let him raise the baby as his own. If he loves his girlfriend and the baby, let him be. If he’s questioning it, then have them take a paternity test.

I’m sure it’s possible. Green eyes are recessive, anyway.

It’s possible, but the only way to determine parenthood is a DNA test. Are they willing to do that, or should you mind your own business?

Answer by Beaner3
yes the trait can be passed through many generations without showing up it because the brown is a domanant gene and you have to have to reccive genes to get the green you want. It’s luck of the draw. If you need more info about it look up punit squares.

Yes, they can.
Next time, the mom is at work, the dad should have an appointment scheduled to have the test. I’d be willing to bet the baby is his if all he’s basing this on is eye color.

YEP! Brown is dominate but each parent will have 2 eye color genes – if there is green somewhere in the history, no matter how distant, it is possible to come out with a green eyed child. Two blue eyed parents CAN NOT come up with a brown eyed child though. To get blue eyes, you must have both your genes blue.

My husband has gorgeous brown eyes and dark brown/black hair. We have 5 children and are expecting our sixth. Of the five, only 1 has brown hair and brown eyes, the others are all blue eyed blondes. His brown gene is dominate but he has a blue eyed gene as well and he keeps giving that one off. LOL.

yes.
so long as there was somebody somewhere along one of the relatives, regardless of how far back ,then there is a possibility.

yep its possible. due to slavery, there have been miscommunications through-out the bloodline of blacks and whites. sometimes two black people can have a baby that looks white. neither parent has cheated but back in the 1800’s the white slave owners would rape the black slaves and so on down the line so the white gene shows up today in a black couple’s baby. its the same concept. as long as the gene is there, there is a possibility to have said gene show up in later generations

  1. Yes, it’s possible. Genetics is not that simple, nor does it only go back 3 generations.

More likely that a green-eyed child came from a green-eyed man than a brown-eyed man, sure. But there is only one way to know.

  2. You should get a book on genetics. There is such a thing as a recessive gene that can cause different colored eyes. It is possible that one of the great grandparents have green eyes and that is where the child gets it from. If there is a real concern and question then have a paterenity test done to determine the fathers child. How long ago were the girlfriend and the ex boyfriend intimate?

Yes very definitely.. Two blue eyed parents however, will only have blue eyed children.. Brown eyed parents can have any colour eyed children possible. If you have blue eyes and your husband has blue eyes, and your child has brown, you got some explainin* to do.
