I’ve finally narrowed it down to these two strollers after sending six others back! However, I’m still torn! These two are my only options since we must have an extremely large sunshade for my sun loathing daughter. The BOB is out of the question. I’m not a serious jogger, more of a power walker, but I do walk on some rough terrain so I need something solid and a swivel wheel. My 10 month old is very high sensory and everything has to be perfect for her to allow me to take her anywhere. So I’m looking for the maximum sunshade as well as a comfortable seat. I’ve had to send a few back because the seat was so darn hard and she couldn’t get comfortable. I have a Kolcraft Contours III I use with an extra sunshade now and she likes the seat, but even with the sunshade, it doesn’t protect her from the sun. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on these two models! Thanks!!

I’d go with the Baby Jogger. My grandson loves it.

Q&A–: I’m going to be getting a Baby Jogger City Mini stroller…and use it for my newborn?
On the Baby Jogger website it says that it can go to an almost full recline position. Obviously I’m not going to jog, I’ll probably never jog with it but I just like the specs and reviews on this particular stroller. It looks like a great stroller.

It says that it almost fully reclines and that you can put an infant in it before it can hold its head up. My sister in law had a Bumbleride and used a neck support. Is this alright to do?

Which neck support would you recommend?

In my prenatal class they said sometimes the best thing is rolled up receiving blankets. Any suggestions?

I would buy a infant stroller insert. I know it cost some money, but that way you don’t have to reposition your baby all the time to ensure she doesn’t fall over in the stroller. Plus, your baby can’t hold her head yet and you don’t want her to do a jerky movement and not have enough support. If you just use a blanket or other means to hold the head up, you will need to stop and repostion often. My baby is 6 weeks old and already she tries to move her head a lot and often looses control in the middle of the movement!! Good luck!!

The City mini is a great stroller and is suitable for a newborn. Rolled up recieving blankets are ok, but the are a hassle to deal with all the time, and tend to move around too much in a stroller versus an infant carrier.

You can buy an inexpensive head and neck support which is held in place by the straps on the stroller and you should have no problems.

An inexpensive one is the Especially For Babies Double Headrest for at www.BabiesRus.com. It comes with 2 inserts, you use both for an infant, and as the child grows you remove the inner on to keep the proper fit. There are many others out there as well.

Hope this helps,

Alan
