I mostly make my own, but for emergencies i have a brand called Raffertys Garden. Not sure if they are available Overseas (I live in Australia) but you could look them up on their website www.raffertysgarden.com and check.

We buy Gerber’s and Del Monte depending on the mood. Making you own food is great if thats what you want to do but I have found nothing wrong with either of those brands. Make sure you are buying the right stage for your child since some of the jars have thicker consistencies and a baby just starting on solids will have a harder time with those. Make sure and check with your pediatrician anytime you are going from breastmilk or formula to solids. He/She will help and make sure that your child is ready to move on from rice cereal to bigger foods. The brand of food is not as important as watching for a food based allergy.

To answer your question I used to give my son beech nut, he prefered it better than other brands and it has a better consistency. I reccomend you try like three and see which one your child is more receptive to.

If you can make your own, use organic ingredients, buy a mini food processor and freeze what you make in ice cube trays for single serve portions. I did this some of the time, and also used Earth’s Best Organics, and Gerber Organics.

I have two different brands of babyfood, I have the “earths best” baby foods and the “beechnut” baby foods. I havent started giving my baby anything yet, but is it bad to give her two different brands? Aslo what is the best veggie and the best fruit to start them out on?

We actually use both of those brands & baby LOVES them all!! As for best veggie/fruit to start out on that’s more a preference choice. Since you are going to be just giving your baby 1 solid every 5-7 days it doesn’t really matter. You need to make sure to do this so that you can see an allergies arise. Good luck

No you can switch brands. Just make sure you wait three days before introducing her to something new.
I didn’t know what to do so I lined up all my jars and fed my son the jars with the least amout of calories first. I remember I started with carrots, but I couldn’t tell you what his second was. I couldn’t even tell you if it was a fruit or another veggie. I do remember that sweet potatoes made his poop runny. Oh and whatever she eat her poop will be that color!

You should be starting your child on cereals first (otherwise known as pablum)…There are different brands out there…I used Heinz, but there are other great brands out there…always start with Rice, but I have heard it doesn’t matter anymore you could start with wheat. Talk to your pediatrician or doctor which is best.
In regards to food….either brand is good…although I used Heinz as we don’t have alot of beechnut foods where I live. It doesn’t matter if you mix them…just not in a dish…as I personally think they would be disgusting mixed together…but who knows..always start with vegetables first….don’t introduce fruits unless its in the cereals until a couple months later…and it can be after they have their meal….just like you would have a vegetable at dinner and dessert right after…it can be looked at the same way

no, i give my baby 2 different brands. as long as you start them out on the same types of foods for 3 days so you can tell if they are allergic to something then nothing’s wrong with it. my baby girl liked the carrots and the green beans the best-gerber or the mixed veggies-beechnut brand, and she liked the apple blueberry and the apple grape strawberry in the gerber brand, also the mixed cereal with apples before bed every night in the beechnut brand
